Book 12: The Garden

Our garden design was inspired by the early 19th Century landscape and garden designer Prince Hermann Ludwig Heinrich von Pückler-Muskau. You might know him better for the ice cream named after hime Fürst Pückler Eis.

Well, this has to wait for later on in the tour.

First, lets have a look at the trees.

 1. Trees

a) When you get out of the garage heading towards the buildings main entrance, first at your right side, there is a large northern catalpa with large beanpods. Our bees really love to hide in this tree.

b) Then, comes an impressing weeping willow of the Salix babylonica species covering part of the natural pond. The favourite tree of my oldest son.

c) Next, there is a sweet alder-leaf birch (Betula alnoides). The birds love to make their nests in it and it gives some shadow to the swimming pool.

d) On the solarium area there is a young beech tree (Fagus grandifolia ). Another one can be found near the saddle room and one on the children’s playground.

e) Finally, there is our grey alder where we have fixed a swing. It is always full of grey weave and eatable mushrooms.

2. Party area

Our garden has a wonderful party area with a lunch area, bar and lounge for any possible occasion.

 3. Animals

You might already have know our pets; dogs and cats, the funny parrots.

Hopefully, you had occasion to admire the fish in the aquarium and the pond.

Further, there are some wild birds and our chicken. They are giving some eggs every day. If you find one, you can keep it.

In the small animal pen, there are also some rabbits.

As you might have realized, we are crazy about horses. The are in the large pen. Next to it, there is a small saddle storage and on the other side there is a large riding course.

Hedgehogs are hidden between the shrubs.

Brown, red and yellow snails can be found all over.

Some mice in the cellar.

Some frogs around the pond.

There is much more. Just luck around.
